A 23-year-old woman in the United States has been found dead in her Columbus, Ohio apartment.

Irine Mudagale Yonge reportedly collapsed and passed away on December 29th in her apartment in East Columbus, while preparing to report to work.

Her body was discovered a day later, after one of her workmates informed police that she had not reported to work and calls to her went unanswered. She hails from Makuchi Village, Vihiga County, where she will be laid to rest on January 27th.

The Highpoint High School of Hyattsville, Prince Georges County, Maryland graduate had relocated to Columbus from Maryland in September, 2015 in search of a job.

Until her death, she worked for Amazon in Columbus, Ohio. She was still pursuing Nursing course at the Columbus School of Practical Nursing and was scheduled to graduate this year.
Family and friends are making funeral arrangements.

Irine was enrolled at Columbus School of Practical Nursing where she was to graduate in 2018. She’s survived by her mother Margaret Yonge; siblings Lawrence, George, Norega, Silvia, Linda all of Maryland, USA,

Corpse of police sergeant discovered in Osogbo

                               


                                   


                                                           


The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in Osun say the corpse of a police sergeant has been discovered at Sawmill Area of Osogbo.

The spokesman of the command, Mr Babawale Afolabi, said in a statement that some wood sellers at a sawmill had reported the discovery of the body in front of Dawodu Petrol Station in the area at about 8 am.

Afolabi said investigation carried out by the NSCDC revealed that the deceased was a police sergeant attached to the Zonal Police Headquarters in Osogbo.

He said one cell phone, one ATM card and a wristwatch were found on the deceased.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The spokesman said the cause of death of the deceased was yet to be identified as no physical marks were found on the body.

He, however, said that there were traces of a foamy substance on his mouth, adding that the police had been notified of the incident.

The police spokesperson in the state, DSP Folashade Odoro, said that the command had been notified of the incident.

She said the corpse had been deposited at the mortuary while the command would conduct further investigation on the matter.

Nas and Kelis settle their child custody dispute, reach new agreement

Rapper Nas and his ex-wife, Kelis have reportedly reached an agreement in their custody dispute over their 8-year-old son, Knight.

According to court documents, the exes found a common ground when it came to sharing their son. Nas will have custody of Knight during the weekends, he will also have four full weekends throughout January, February, and March. Nas' weekend visits will begin immediately after school on Fridays through Sunday night, or Monday night, if it's a 3-day weekend.

The new agreement also requires both parents to use their "best efforts to not popularize [Knight] in social media."

As earlier reported, Nas was complaining that Kelis was making it difficult for him to spend extended time with their son, hence a custody battle, which has now been resolved.

Armed robbers cooked, ate before robbing victim in Kogi

                                     
                                            

A group of armed bandits who invaded the home of a couple in Lokoja, the Kogi State capital during the yuletide have been arrested.

The suspects were paraded on Wednesday by the Kogi State police command.

The suspects five in number were said to have invaded the house of the couple on the 28th December at about 2am while the couple and their children were fast asleep. 

 

The victim Chris Edime who narrated his ordeal to newsmen at the police headquarters in Lokoja said that he was woken up by the strange sound of the robbers who gained entrance into the children room and started ransacking the house.

“They ordered us all to lie face down, two of them entered the kitchen to prepare food while two of them drove to the ATM to empty my account.”

Edime said he was yet to ascertain how much loss he incurred as he is still discovering lost items on daily basis.

Parading the arrested suspect, the state police public relations officer, William Aya, an Assistant Superintendent of Police, said “on the 28th December 2017, at about 0200hours, one Engineer Chris Edume, ‘m’ of Naval Quarters Area, Lokongoma Phase ll, Lokoja reported that unknown gunmen invaded his house, dispossessed him of his Infinity G35X Salon Car with registration no GWA67JS, his ATM card and other household appliances.”

He said that based on the information, the state’s Directorate of State Security Services, Lokoja and operatives of the command launched a manhunt for the perpetrators and in the process arrested the suspects.

Those arrested and paraded are 27-year-old Mohammed Kabiru; 26 years old Musa Mohammed; 26 years old Emmanuel Audu; and 28 years old Yale Yunusa, all males.

According to the police, one LG Plasma TV, one home theatre electronic, bag of rice, one single barrel gun, twelve assorted handsets and charms were recovered from the culprits.

“Further investigation led to the arrest of one Mohammed Ibrahim of Lagos from whom Infinity G35X saloon car was recovered,”

The 16-year-old girl stabbed by a young man in Delta State because she rejected him, is dead (photos)

                

16-year-old Alero Eyesan passed away this morning. She was stabbed on New Year Eve by a young man simply identified as Osama in Sapele, Delta State.

According to reports online, after the teenager reportedly refused his advances,  Osama laid ambush on her on the night of December 31 and stabbed her on the thigh. Below is the update:

"Tears, the young girl who was stabbed gave up early this morning. The Dr's tried all they could, but the sepsis had spread very fast all over her body because she was left unattended to since the 31st of last month. Its a painful and pathetic situation, but God knows the best. May her soul rest in perfect peace"
